Cryo Face
What It Is
A cryo facial applies controlled cold to the face and neck using a chilled applicator or a stream of cool vapor. Essentially a carefully controlled version of splashing your face with ice water, it leaves the complexion pink, smooth and noticeably less puffy. The refreshed look is genuine, although temporary.
Great for:
- Looking refreshed before an occasion or photographs
- Tired skin that has lost its natural radiance
- Mild puffiness around the eyes and cheeks
- Sensitive skin that feels warm or irritated
How It Works
Cold causes the small blood vessels near the surface to constrict. When the cold lifts they open again and circulation returns, giving the complexion its flushed, wide-awake appearance. The cold also settles inflammation and draws excess fluid from puffy areas, so the surface looks smoother and more even.
Your visit:
- We ask about your sensitivity to cold and any recent treatments.
- Your face is cleansed and dried, with eye protection whenever vapor is used.
- The applicator glides continually over the face, jawline and neck.
- As the skin recovers, calming serums, moisturizer and sunscreen are applied.
What to Expect
- Time: about 15 to 30 minutes from beginning to end
- How it feels: sharply cold initially, then bracing and relaxing
- Downtime: none; reapply your makeup and carry on with your schedule
- Results: visible when the session ends, typically lasting a day or two
- How often: before an occasion, or alongside your regular facial
