What It Is

A CO₂ laser facial resurfaces the skin with thousands of microscopic columns of energy, leaving untouched tissue in between so healing is faster. As those columns heal, the surface becomes noticeably smoother and the skin rebuilds collagen underneath. This is the strongest resurfacing treatment we offer, so real recovery time is part of the plan.

How It Works

Water inside the skin cells absorbs the laser energy and converts it to heat, lifting away very narrow columns of worn tissue, while the healthy skin left in between supplies fresh cells so the surface repairs itself quickly. That same warmth stimulates new collagen over the following months, which is where the firming comes from.

Your visit:

We review your skin, your health history and any medications.
We cleanse your skin, then apply numbing cream for 30 to 60 minutes.
The laser passes over each area at settings selected for you.
We cool the skin, apply healing cream and explain your aftercare.

What to Expect

Time: about 1.5 to 2.5 hours, including numbing time
How it feels: warm and prickling, then hot like a sunburn
Downtime: five to seven days of peeling, then pinkness that can last for months
Results: fresher skin within two weeks, smoother texture over several months
How often: sessions are spaced weeks to months apart, based on your skin
